There is a problem in the question, but I suspect they wrongly asked for no real roots when in fact, there should be 2 real roots.

No; the equation has 1 real root when c = 0 and 2 real roots otherwise.

The relevant sketches from Desmos to explain why real roots are always obtained. The only case where there is only one real root is when c = 0, when the equation becomes linear instead of quadratic.
