At your level models are still the easiest.

We let 3/4 of Salim’s money be equal to 3 units. So Salim has 4 units of money.

Then it follows that

(because 3/4 of Salim’s money is equal to 1/2 of Irfan’s money)

So Salim has 4 units out of all 10 units held by both people, or 2/5 of the total sum of money.
