a) One side of the small square= 4-3 =1cm
Area of small square = 1 x 1 = 1cm^2
b) Area of triangle= 1/2 x 3 x 4 =6
Area of 4 triangles = 4 x 6 = 24
Area of original square piece of paper = 24 +1 = 25
Side of original square piece of paper= 5cm
Perimeter of original square piece of paper = 5 x 4 =20cm
(Side note: Can make use of Pythagoras Theorem to find the side of original square piece of paper then find perimeter.)
