b) 256= 16 x 16
Last layer will have 16 cards on each side.
Number of cards on each side = Layer x 2
Layer = 16/2 = 8
Odd layer is black, even layer is white,
8th layer is white.
Whichever colour has the outermost layer has most cards in total. Thus, white has more cards.
c) 8 x4 =32 (since 2nd layer has 8 more than 1st layer, 4th layer has 8 more than 3rd layer, 6th layer has 8 more than 5th layer, 8th layer has 8 more than 7th layer)
