List out the possible third and fourth digits.
A) 1, 2
B) 2, 3
C) 3,4
D) 4, 5

Let the first digit be a and second digit be a+1.

Substitute the combinations (A,B,C,D) into this equation.

a+ (fourth digit) = (a+1)* (third digit)

Option A (1,2)
a + 2 = (a+1) * 1
a + 2 = a+ 1 (Wrong)

Option B (2,3)
a + 3 = (a+1)*2
a+ 3 = 2a +2
a =1 (Correct answer)

Option C (3,4)
a+4 = (a+1) *3
a+ 4 = 3a +3
2a = 1
a= 0.5 (Wrong as it is an integer)

Option D (4,5)
a+ 5 = (a+1)*4
a+5 = 4a +4
3a = 1
a=1/3 (Wrong as it is an integer)
