A and B scored an average of 15 marks
A and C scored an average of 18 marks
B and C scored an average of 20 marks

This means that

A and B scored a total of 30 marks
B and C scored a total of 36 marks
A and C scored a total of 40 marks

Adding all these together,

“2 Abby, 2 Betty and 2 Claire” scored a total of 106 marks.

So “two groups” of Abby, Betty and Claire scored a total of 106 marks.

This means that Abby, Betty and Claire scored a total of 53 marks.

But remember that Abby and Betty scored a total of 30 marks.

Claire’s score
= 53 - 30
= 23
