Hi Daniel! Thank u. I understand your explanation.

But can i ask...not sure if it is common sense but how do we know the qn is asking to use ANY 2 SETUPS among the 3? I had thought must use ALL 3 that is why i find it so puzzling. Can u advise me again pls? Thank u!

Elo!

One thing to remember is that variables that change amongst different set ups in a single experiment is not always the independent variable aka the variable you are testing for.

Using all 3 set ups would have been unsuitable because there is no basis for comparison. The only way to compare all 3 together is when all 3 have a single variable unchanged (e.g water added or same location) whilst only having 1 independent variable. In this case this is not what is happening.

Another thing to consider is that for testing 2 variables with 3 set ups you need at least 2 positive results, because simply put there is no way you are proving the need for 2 variables for the plant to grow if 2 of your seeds do not grow whilst you only have 1 germinated seed to compare with the other 2. Think about this!

Let me know if ya still have doubts ^^
