Good afternoon Annela!

When we talk about more colliding particles possessing greater than the activation energy, we can use this to describe an increase in temperature or a decrease in activation energy, so this point mainly applies to increased temperature (because of increased kinetic energy to overcome activation energy) and catalysts (due to a lowering of the activation energy itself).

Think of passing a regular examination or passing with 40 marks because the passing mark is lowered. In either case, the student passes the examination.

Can i use this sentence to describe higher speed of reaction when there is higher temperature/ higher pressure/ smaller particle size/ presence of catalyst

The pressure and particle size factors are more suited for greater number of particles reacting at any point of time, though these particles do not necessarily have more energy than the activation energy all the time.

As in, the percentage of particles possessing greater energy than the activation energy does not exactly increase with increased pressure and decreases surface area.

With temperature, the overall energy increases as a whole. Thus, this statement is best used for temperature and catalyst factors.
