each of the small shaded parts are made up of a quater circle minus triangle. or you can see it as a whole circle minus a whole square within that circle and divide by 4.

Tough question! The hardest part would be finding the shaded area of inner shapes.

But treat it as finding the part of the semicircle! Subtracting the area of the triangle from the semicircle will give you the area of 1 weird shape (you have 8 in total)

The radius should be half of 20cm (which is 10 cm)
