I think the answer should be 80 instead.
That ratio is probably wrong and should be EF/FC = 1/2 or FC/EC = 2/3
The trick here is that triangles FGH and FCD are similar. (You should be able to prove this easily)
The ratio of their bases is 1 : 4
(HG/DC = 1/4)
So the ratio of their areas is 1² : 4²
= 1 : 16

i uploaded another pic ... do u think this qn is technically incorrectly set ?
i drew out the entire pic in correct ratio and found it is impossible for all the ratios to tally
On second thought, I think it's more likely that AH = HG is incorrect. Follow your method 2 instead.
AH = HG is given in part B
Yup. So is EF/FG = 2/3 in part b. Solving using either info gives a different answer

Well method 2 will fit the answer scheme
One of the info is incorrect.
Either the EF/FG = 2/3 or AH = HG is incorrect. You will get 2 different answers depending on which piece of info you follow. Would suggest you check with the teacher.
edit : would suggest you follow this method and treat AH=HG as incorrect
