We use the cosine rule for such cases, since the provided angle of 130 degrees is "sandwiched" between the two known lengths of 1200 m and 950 m.

The formula to use is

c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab cos C

where a = 1200, b = 950 and angle C = 130 degrees.

Type this into the calculator in degree mode to obtain the value for c^2, which you will then square root to obtain the straight line distance ML.
