Because James is faster than Marion, James will definitely travel more than Marion in the same time. So they will meet not at the midpoint, but somewhere along Marion's 'half' of the distance

In the same amount of time, James travelled 300m further than the midpoint. Marion was 300m away from the midpoint.

So James's distance travelled
= ½ of total distance + 300m

Marion's distance travelled
= ½ of total distance - 300m

So James travelled 600m more than Marion

If James is 4km/h faster than Marion, that means James travels 4km more than Marion every hour.

Now 4km = 4000m. And 1 hr = 60 min
Since he only travelled 600m more than Marion,

Amount of time they travelled for
= 600m/4000m x 60 min

= 3/20 x 60 min
= 9 min

So they would have met at 9.09am

you should probably try to understand and clarify with AC first before downvoting

Just because it doesn't 'sound right' doesn't mean it's wrong.
