Difference in ages doesn't change so we have to make the units the same for the difference in both ratios

2003

Anna : Lina : Difference : Total
= 3 : 5 : 2 : 8

2009

Anna : Lina : Difference : Total
= 2 : 3 : 1 : 5
= 4 : 6 : 2 : 10
(we multiplied by 2 so the difference becomes 2 as well)

Now 2009 - 2003 = 6
So 6 years had passed from 2003 to 2009.
So each girl grew older by 6 years in that period.

Anna's age increased from 3 units to 4 units.
Lina's age increased from 5 units to 6 units.

Their ages increased by 1 unit each.
So 1 unit = 6 years

From above we know their total age in 2009 is 10 units.

10 units = 10 x 6 years = 60 years

From 2009 to 2014, that's 5 years difference.
So each girl would have become 5 years older, and that means a total increase in age by 10 years (5 + 5 or 5 x 2)

Total age in 2014
= 60 + 10
= 70 years
