Alternative answer :

You can cut away a quarter circle from the shaded ¾ circle, and fit it into the unshaded part.

Then now you have a semicircle and triangle.

Triangle's base is just 2 times the radius of the circle.
Base = 2 x 21cm = 42cm

Total shaded area
= triangle area + semicircle area
= ½ x 42cm x 21cm + ½ x 21cm x 21cm 22/7

= 441cm² + 693cm²
= 1134cm²

With this method, we don't actually have to find the two small shaded areas separately
