in the end
A: 2u
J: 4u

at first
A: 4u
J: 4u+45
A : J = 4 : 7

7-4 = 3

so 3u = 45
u = 15

at first, Ann has $60

A:J
4:7

“A” spent half, so she spent 2 units and will be left with 2 units.

“J” had twice as much money as “A”, which means J had 4 units in the end.

7units - 4units = 3 units

So “J” spent 3 units.

3units = $45
1unit=$45/3=$15
4units=$15x4=$60

Ans: “A” had $60 at first.
