1.2 km = 1 km + 0.2 km
= 1 km + 200 m

1st 1 km costs $3.60
the next 200 m costs $0.22
so
total fare = 3.60+0.22 = $3.82

Good job

See 1 Answer

Distance travelled = 1.2km

1.2 km = 1km + 0.2km

Fare for first kilometer = $3.60

Fare for next 400m or part thereof = $0.22
(200m is less than 400m and is thus considered under the category of part thereof)

Total fare = $3.82

The taxi fare is calculated by charging $3.60 for the first 1km, and an additional $0.22 for every extra 0.4km or a part of 0.4km travelled.

Even if you exceed 400m by 1m, they will charge an additional $0.22, but the money paid is enough to last you for the next 399m

Hope this helps! :)
