Jonathan, Desmond and Marcus sold 122 bowls.

Jonathan and Marcus sold 72 bowls.

Jonathan and Desmond sold 104 bowls.

Look at the second and third statement. Combining both statements together, we can see that Jonathan, Marcus, Desmond and “another” Jonathan sold 176 bowls altogether.

Jonathan + Desmond + Marcus + Jonathan = 176

Jonathan + Desmond + Marcus = 122

The difference between these two is one extra Jonathan, who sells 176 - 122 = 54 bowls.

Correct approach, but slight miscalculation: 122 - 72 = 50 instead of 40.
