4e^(1 + 3x) = 9e^(5 - 2x)
4/9 = e^(5 - 2x)/e^(1 + 3x)
4/9 = e^(5 - 2x - (1 + 3x))
4/9 = e^(4 - 5x)
4 - 5x = ln(4/9)
5x = 4 - ln(4/9)
x = (4 - ln(4/9))/5
x = (4 - (ln4 - ln9))/5
x = (4 - ln4 + ln9)/5
x ≈ 0.962186044
= 0.962 (3 s.f)
4/9 = e^(5 - 2x)/e^(1 + 3x)
4/9 = e^(5 - 2x - (1 + 3x))
4/9 = e^(4 - 5x)
4 - 5x = ln(4/9)
5x = 4 - ln(4/9)
x = (4 - ln(4/9))/5
x = (4 - (ln4 - ln9))/5
x = (4 - ln4 + ln9)/5
x ≈ 0.962186044
= 0.962 (3 s.f)
