Angles question, pls help

HY = YG as given by the question.

EH = FG since both are sides of a square.

Both angle EHY and angle FGY are 90° as they are angles of a square's corners.

By Side-Angle-Side (SAS) similarity, Triangle EHY and Triangle FGY are congruent.

(loosely means identical. Don't worry about SAS as it's only taught in secondary school.)

So angle HEY = angle GFY = 27°.

Angle YEG = 45° - 27° = 18°

In case you're wondering why YEF is 63° also, and need the explanation in your answer,

EY and FY are both lines from adjacent corners of the same square, E and F, to the midpoint Y of the same opposite side, HG.

So EY = FY and triangle EFY is isosceles.

So angle YEF = angle YFE = 63°
