A well-known concept, during the change of state, all the energy is solely channelled into or removed from the substance during the changing of state (for example, melting of ice). During this period of time, no energy is being channelled into any temperature change.

Rather , the energy is used in overcoming/ energy released during the formation of intermolecular/interatomic/interionic forces of attraction during change of state.

The temp doesnt change. Always fall back to the basic theory that distinguishes the states of matter - solid liquid gas.
