1230 - 0930 = 0300

Aaron took 3 hours to travel that distance.

Since Bill started 1 hour later,

Bill took 2 hours only.

Every hour, Bill travels 18km more than Aaron since he's 18km/h faster.

In that 2 hours, 18km x 2 = 36km

He would have travelled 36km more than Aaron in that 2 hours.

Since he overtook Aaron at that point, this tells you that:

When Bill started, Bill was 36km behind Aaron. But he caught up with him by travelling 36km more in the same 2 hours.

And this also tells us that Aaron had already travelled 36km during the first hour.

So Aaron's speed is 36km ÷ 1h = 36km/h

b)

Bill's speed = 36km/h + 18km/h
= 54km/h

Bill reached town Q ½ hour later.

So his total time taken
= 2 h + ½h = 2½h

Distance between P and Q
= 2½h x 54km/h
= 135km
