CF = FE. So △CFE is isosceles.

angle FCE = angle FEC = 23° (base angles of isosceles triangle)

Angle DFE
= 180° - angle FEC - angle FCE - angle CFD
= 180° - 23° - 23° - 62°
= 72°
(angle sum of △CFE)


Since FE = ED, △ DFE is isosceles.

angle DFE = angle FDE = 72°
(Base angles of isosceles triangle)

So, angle a

= 180° - angle DFE - angle FDE - angle FEC
= 180° - 72° - 72° - 23°
= 13°

(angle sum of triangle)
