Good morning Chelsia!

Observe that triangle BCE is isosceles with CE = BE. This can be easily proven by symmetry, congruency or general inspection of angles.

Once you have found theta in part b, you are able to find angles BCE and CBE. From there, you can work out angle alpha.

Another way to see this is by drawing a horizontal line rightwards from E such that this line is parallel to the long side of the rectangle. We can use the property of alternate angles from there.
