For qn (b) asking about PART A in the diagram...can i ask -- Part A is EVAPORATION or CONDENSATION? i thought it is evaporation becos the vapour havemt come in contact with the cooler surface above.
But ans key is "GAS TO LIQUID " which i think is incorrect.
If evaporation then ans should be liquid to gas right?

Gas to liquid is correct. Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. Above the boiling water, if water remains as a gas, it would not be visible. The 'vapour' that is seen, as indicated in the diagram, are very tiny water droplets. Most water remains as steam, until the temperature drops below 100 degrees Celsius. Its a higher order thinking question, I guess.
