Hi, always try to relate the pattern back to the figure number. In part a, total number of triangles and circles are square numbers. Then relate it back to the figure number. In part b, it would be harder to find the general term of the number of circles or number of triangles alone. So, find the difference then relate it back to the figure number. Hope this helps.
