So the length of the rectangle is the same as 3 radii of the semicircles
Notice that the breadth of the rectangle is the same as the radius of the semicircles.
Perimeter = 2 length + 2 breadth
= 2 x 3 radii + 2 x radius
= 6 radii + 2 radii
= 8 radii
This equals 56cm.
So 1 radius = 56cm ÷ 8 = 7cm
The figure has the curved length of two identical semicircles. Combine them together and you get the circumference of 1 circle.
Since we already know the rectangle's perimeter, we just need to find the circumference and add it to the perimeter to find the wire length.
Circumference = 2πr
= 2 x 22/7 x 7cm
= 44cm
Total wire length
= 44cm + 56cm
= 100cm
