Pls help me idk how to do
So Hazel spent $54 less than Gina.
Since they started with the same amount of money,
This means Hazel has $54 more than Gina after spending.
Hazel has 4 times as much money as Gina now.
So she has 3 times more money than Gina.
3 times = $54
1 time = $54 ÷ 3 = $18
4 times = $18x 4 = $72
So Hazel has $72 now. Gina has $18 now.
So total amount at first
= $72 + $18 + $5 + $59
= $154
Upon inspection, G spent $54 more than H.
As a result, H had $54 more than G at the end. Coincidentally, H had 4 times as much left as G.
This means that H had 3 units of money more than G, which corresponds to the $54 extra money.
3 units --> $54
1 unit --> $54 / 3 = $18
4 units --> $18 x 4 = $72
So H had $72 at the end and G had $18 at the end.
Their total sum of money at first
= $72 + $18 + $59 + $5
(remember they spent this much money)
= $154
