Hint: find angle spq first. Sin=opp/hypo. Invoke property of //logram to find other unknown angle. Then you should be able to find the answer next. Thanks.

Trigonometry is probably too advanced for a Sec 1 student, considering that trigonometry and the Pythagoras' Theorem are both only covered in Sec 2 (for the express students) and probably Sec 2 or Sec 3 (for the normal academic and the normal technical students).

Finding areas using base x perpendicular height is the way to go here.

1st
We view the parallelogram from two different angles or points of view.

In the first case, the base is PQ and the height is ST.

In the second case, the base is QR and the height is SU.

Either way, the base and its corresponding perpendicular height multiply to get the area of the exact same parallelogram.
