Every hour, Car A moves closer to to Town Y by 80km Car B moves closer to Town X by 60km.

Now, if Car A is getting nearer Town Y by 80km every hour , it is also getting closer to Car B by 80km in the same hour.

But Car B is getting nearer Town X by 60km every hour. This means it is also getting closer to Car A by 60km in the same hour.


When combined, they are getting closer to each other by 80km + 60km = 140km

Now they are 280km apart. If every hour they are getting 140km closer to each other,

Then 280km ÷ 140km = 2

So it will be two hours later they meet each other.


0800 + 0200 = 1000

It will be 10am or 1000 hours when they meet.
