If larger number is twice that of smaller number,

larger number = 2 units
Smaller number = 1 unit

Difference = 2 units - 1 unit = 1 unit

Sum = 2 units + 1 unit = 3 units

3 units - 1 unit = 2 units
So the sum is 2 units bigger than the difference.

2 units = 108
1 unit = 108 ÷ 2 = 54

So smaller number is 54.
Larger number = 54 x 2 = 108

Product = 54 x 108 = 5832

actually model drawing is more suitable for P5. Simultaneous equations usually used in unit-part method (seen mostly at P6/PSLE, with no x or y variables)
