Add the two equations together. In other words,
Pentagon + arrow = 886
Pentagon - arrow = 396
If we collect them together, then
Pentagon + arrow + pentagon - arrow = 886 + 396
But the two arrows cancel each other
2 x pentagon = 1282
One pentagon is 1282/2 = 641
This means that one arrow is 886 - 641 = 245.
Pentagon + arrow = 886
Pentagon - arrow = 396
If we collect them together, then
Pentagon + arrow + pentagon - arrow = 886 + 396
But the two arrows cancel each other
