Hi Tarah! Here are my workings for this question.
For these type of quadrant diagrams, we must be able to ascertain the quadrant in which an angle lies in. This is because of the ASTC rule which you have probably just learnt recently. Different Quadrants will have different signages attached to sin, cos and tan.
We draw out a triangle and find the missing length before answering the questions.
I choose to draw the triangle associated with the basic angle alpha because sin, cos and tan in the first quadrant is all positive. The signages can then be assigned depending on which quadrant the actual angle A lies in.
