There are 5 parts from 0 to 4, 5 parts from 4 to 8 and so on.
Each part represents a length of 4/5 = 0.8 cm.
The left part of the scissors is 2 parts before the 4 cm mark, so the left part is (4 - 2 x 0.8) = 2.4 cm.
The right part of the scissors is 2 parts after the 16 cm mark, so the right part is (16 + 2 x 0.8) = 17.6 cm.
Length of scissors
= Right part - Left part
= 17.6 - 2.4
= 15.2 cm
Each part represents a length of 4/5 = 0.8 cm.
The left part of the scissors is 2 parts before the 4 cm mark, so the left part is (4 - 2 x 0.8) = 2.4 cm.
The right part of the scissors is 2 parts after the 16 cm mark, so the right part is (16 + 2 x 0.8) = 17.6 cm.
Length of scissors
= Right part - Left part
= 17.6 - 2.4
= 15.2 cm
