Total number of students divide by total scores will give the average scores of the students. This means we can take the average score multiple by total students to get the total scores.

70x is the total scores before the two students join. 70x + 195 is the total scores after the students join. If we take the final total scores divide by the final total number of students we will get the average score of 75 as given in the question. With that, we solve for x.
