5 pears + 5 mangoes
8 pears + 4 mangoes

They cost the same.

Find the difference by removing the number of fruits in common.

8 pears - 5 pears = 3 pears
5 mangoes - 4 mangoes = 1 mango

So 3 pears cost the same as 1 mango.

Mango = 3 units
Pear = 1 unit

Difference = 2 units = $3.70

Cost of 1 pear = 1 unit = $3.70 ÷ 2 = $1.85
Cost of 1 mango = $1.85 x 3 = $5.55
