Qn 1a) Combine the 2 expressions into 1 expression using common denominator, which in this case its 10. Solve the expression from there after.

For equalilatetal triangle, all 3 sides will have the same length. Thus, since qn has given JL=10cm;
and the other 2 sides of length to be (x+y) and (3x-y) respectively. The other equation would be 3x-y=10.
In terms of solving, u can either use elimination method by removing y and solve for x. Alternatively, using substitution method (as above) works well too by either setting x or y as the subject
