Please help for (b)(ii), is this question common?

You will have to follow the general formula for binomial expansion, with one extra note.

(n choose r) = n! / (n-r)!

From there you should able to get n in terms of a number instead of an expression.

For part ii, you will have to multiply the terms which will multiply to give you a constant (no x). Equate that to zero and you should be able to find n.

Unfortunately I am outside and unable to give a pictorial solution. If there are no other solutions tonight I will try and write one for you

Sent the first part. If you do not mind tediousness, you can also do this question the “fool’s way” and expand everything until you find the term in x^-2. The same answer should be obtained.
