It’s difficult to quote the rule on its own though.
There are several rules for differentiations.
Basic one is y = ax^n where a and n are constants, then dy/dx = nax^(n - 1).
Then there is the chain rule.
If, instead of ax^n, the x is replaced by something like bx + c, we differentiate a(bx + c)^n the same way, but at the end we must multiply by the differential of bx + c, which is what the chain is all about.
Then there is the product rule and the quotient rule.
