I can solve with guess and check only right now. May have other method

Let the number =xy
12 = 4(1+2) but 21 -12 is not 27
24 = 4(2+4) but 42-24 is not 27
36= 4(3+6) and 63-36= 27 ... hmmm this is the answe 36.

The sum of two digits cannot be more than 18.

This follows that the two digit number cannot be more than 72.

The fact that reversing the number makes the new number bigger suggests that the digit in the tens place is smaller than that in the ones place for the original number.

Also, the fact that the difference is 27 means that the difference in the tens digit of both numbers is at most 3.

And let’s not forget the fact that the original number is 4 times the sum of its digits.

Only numbers such as 12, 24, 36 and 48 exhibit this property.

Only 36 reverses to 63 which has a difference of 27.

Let the digit in the tens place be a and the digit in the ones place be b. So the number is ab.

First piece of information allows us to come up with this equation :

10a + b = 4(a + b), since the value of the tens digit is 10 x a.

10a + b = 4a + 4b
6a = 3b
b = 2a

Now reverse the digits to get ba .

Similarly, since the value of the digit in the tens place is 10 x b, we can come up with this equation based on the second piece of info :

10b + a = 10a + b + 27
9b = 9a + 27

Substitute b = 2a,

9(2a) = 9a + 27
18a = 9a + 27
9a = 27
a = 3

So b = 2 x 3 = 6

The number is 36.

Oops I never realised that the question is a Sec 2 question. I avoided algebra altogether thinking it was a primary question.
