In between 1 and 2 are a total of four parts.

Each part is one out of 4.

We write it as 1/4.

The labelled arrow is at the third part. Three out of 4. 3/4.

The number is more than 1 but has not reached 2 yet.

So the number can be written as 1 (space) 3/4.

Similarly, the other number is 3 (space) 1/4, even though sadly the arrow is not exactly at the 1/4 mark.

In part (b), one whole is split into three parts. Each part is one out of three, 1/3.

The fractions are 5 (space) 1/3 and 6 (space) 2/3.

By a similar idea, part c has values 4 (space) 1/7 and 5 (space) 6/7.
