c + d + e = 180 (because these are angles in triangle)

So, c + d = 180 - e

Now, a + b + e = 180 (also because these are angles in triangle)

So, a + b = 180 - e

a + b + c + d = 290
(180 - e) + (180 - e) = 290
360 - e - e = 290
360 - 290 = e + e
e + e = 70
2 x e = 70
e = 70 divided by 2 = 35
