To form the quadratic equation, we first need to call the sum and the product of the new roots. We obtain an exact value for the sum using the old data for the sum and product of the old roots.

Once you obtain the sum and product of the new roots, we obtain the quadratic equation using the formula

x2 - (Sum of roots)x + (Product of roots) = 0.

So for example, if the sum of roots is found to be 10 and the product of roots is found to be 24, then the equation is

x2 - 10x + 24 = 0

Similarly, if the sum of roots is found to be -1 and the product of roots is found to be -2, then the equation is

x2 - (-1) x + (-2) = 0
x2 + x - 2 = 0

Where we can, we leave the coefficients of the quadratic equations fractionless.
