how do i continue so that i can sub the log5x and make it into a quadratic equation can someone help me ty

Not every of these type of equations will become quadratic. This particular case, with common x but different base (still, 5 and 25 are related), will lead to a linear equation. You can use the substitution u = log5 x if necessary. Your answer is perfectly correct, we just add the two logs as though it is a basic algebra question: 4u + u = 5u.
