The ans in the ans key says value of a = -2 and b = 8 but I got a -4 2/3 and b = 8 2/3 :((

Assuming you know you are supposed to use the Remainder Theorem, what I like to do is to just redo the entire question. It is most likely a careless mistake which is hard to catch at a glance.
