Make the numerator the same.

⅜ = 12/32

4/5 = 12/15

So Mr Tan has 32 units , Mr Wong has 15 units

But why make the numerator the same instead?

Firstly, we need think of the fraction in terms of units.

3/8 means 3 units out of 8 units.
4/5 means 4 units out of 5 units.

Since the amount of money is the same, we make the numerator the same as the number of units should be the same for the same amount of money.
