I am not so sure on how to change the inequality sign. Please have some explanation. Thank you!

if -4x ≤ 16,

Then -x ≤ 16/4

So -x ≤ 4

This means that -x can be any value equal or smaller than 4.

So for example, 4, 3.5, 3 , 1 ,0 ,-5, -1000 , - 99999.... Etc.


but these are for values of -x. If these are the possible values of -x, then possible values of x are -4, -3.5, -3 -1, 0, 5 , 1000, 99999...

This means x has to be bigger or equal to -4.

Hence x ≥ -4

When we multiply by a negative number (in this case multiply by -1), we change the sign to the other direction.
