I am confused by the part when they say iron is 4 times the mass of sulphur

before reaction,
mass of iron = 3x
mass of sulfur = x

after reaction,
mass of iron = 3x-10
mass of sulfur = x-6

3x-10 = 4(x-6)
3x-10 = 4x - 24
x = 14

mass of iron before reaction is 14x3 = 42 g

For your info, in one of the tutor’s answers, ‘Fe’ is the chemical symbol for iron, while ‘S’ is the chemical symbol for sulphur, if you are wondering why the tutor used Fe and S instead of a and b or x and y.
