Before : Benny 1 unit, Danny 4 units
Difference = 3 units
After :
1/5 more means that
Benny 5 units, Danny 6 units
Difference = 1 unit
Notice that they bought the same number of marbles. So the difference remains the same. We make the units the same.
Multiply by 3 ,
After : Benny = 15 units , Danny = 18 units
Difference = 3 units
Difference between before and after
= 15 units - 1 unit = 14 units
(Or 18 units - 4 units = 14 units)
So 14 units = 70 marbles
1 unit = 70 marbles ÷ 14 = 5 marbles
Total marbles at first
= 1 unit + 4 units
= 5 units
= 5 x 5 marbles
= 25 marbles.
