Arrow in compass will point north.
So when magnet with North Pole bring close to compass in the figure. It will rebel and point to A.

The first thing to understand is that the compass needle head is pointing to the direction of North while the opposite end of the compass needle points to South.

To answer your second question, we assume that the compass needle is at its final position. This means that the needle will not point to any of the alphabets/direction (if the magnet is not present), so the needle will NOT point towards D.

As opposite poles attract, the bottom of the needle (South) will be attracted to the north of the magnet. This means that the compass needle will start moving towards C when you bring the magnet closer.

As the question is asking about where the needle head would move towards, we look at the arrow head instead and will derive the final answer, A.

The thing you need to understand is for magnets directions, it is kind of special as you can see in my workings and that applies to the compass too.

Basically, you're wrong because of the directions, hope this helped.
