difference betw any two consecutive odd numbers is always 2.
for e.g.: 3, 5, 7
difference of 3 & 5 is 5-3 = 2
difference of 5 & 7 is 7-5 = 2

hence, if one odd number is
2n - 1
the next consecutive odd number is
2n - 1 + 2 = 2n + 1

AND the next consecutive odd number AFTER 2n + 1 is
2n + 1 + 2 = 2n + 3

thats all!
